Parking Violations:
OPD will be patrolling the neighborhood ensuring that sidewalks are not blocked; that cars are not parked within 30 feet of a stop sign; and that cars are not parked within 15 feet of a fire hydrant. These are state statutes that can carry a fine of roughly $116. In addition, blocking sidewalks is also a city ordinance and could carry an additional fine of $30.
Speeding/Unsafe Driving:
If you witness speeding, or other unsafe driving on our community streets, please send an email to traffic@cityofoviedo.net or call the Oviedo Police Department non-emergency number 407-971-5700. Please include:
- Time of day
- Specific location
- Vehicle description
- License plate (if available) – OPD can use this to make contact with the offender
This information helps OPD better target their patrols, which will hopefully lead to fewer occurrences of unsafe driving. According to OPD the majority of the offenders are Sanctuary residents. It is the entire community’s responsibility to ensure our streets are safe. Your cooperation and diligence are appreciated.
