We live in bear country! There continues to be significant bear activity in the community, including a recent incident of a bear charging a residential front door. A mama bear and her two yearling cubs were captured February 15 by FWC and relocated early the following morning. There is still an active family unit frequenting the community with more likely soon to move in as it’s cub season.

We need the cooperation of ALL Members to remove bear attractants.

Please store your trash cans inside and wait until Wednesday morning to put your trash cans out for collection.  Other attractants include pet food, bird feeders, grills, gardens, fruit and oak trees. These food sources are attracting bears to the neighborhood and are entirely avoidable with your cooperation.

Florida Black Bear are a protected species, and are not a nuisance animal that may be removed by the HOA, the City, or the County. Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission should be contacted if a bear appears violent.
