Solicitors:
As a reminder, the City of Oviedo has an ordinance regarding solicitors. Solicitors are required to be registered and permitted and you may ask to see a copy of their permit (sample permit). If they don’t have one, please call the OPD non-emergency number at 407-971-5700 to report them.
Suspicious persons:
Recently, there have been increased reports of suspicious persons . One Member reported someone who had climbed a tree on their property! Luckily, they called OPD and the situation was handled. If you see anyone or anything suspicious, please immediately call the OPD non-emergency number at 407-971-5700.
Vehicle burglaries:
There have been reports of multiple vehicle burglaries in our area (in some cases, arrests were made). Please ensure all valuables are removed from your vehicles (including garage door openers) and please remember to lock your vehicles. According to OPD, this will prevent 99% of these crimes as the perpetrators will move onto the next easy target.
In any of the above cases, please call immediately call OPD at 407-971-5700. If you see something, say something! OPD has repeatedly said that they’d rather come out and be safe, than sorry.
